In Reading, a small suburb of Ohio near Cincinnati, one politician’s “plastic” smile is gaining extraordinary attention.
BarBe Q, a busty mannequin who is currently a hostess at KT’s Barbeque and Deli, is running for town mayor. Her campaign manager, Kenny Tessel, who happens to be the owner of the restaurant, claims, “This is not a stunt. She’s running on a real platform, with real issues.”
According to Tessel, BarBe Q wishes to bring attention to the small, mom-and-pop shops and restaurants who are struggling to compete with large fast food corporations in the area. The candidate, he says, will fight to raise awareness about the “fast food and chain restaurant mentality” that has recently dominated Cincinnati, the city with the eighth-highest amount of fast food consumption.
Will BarBe Q be able to make the transition from platform heels to political platform?
